IRE welcomes new Google Journalism Fellow

This summer IRE will welcome Jessica Park, a student at Stanford University, as its Google Journalism Fellow. Park earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism at the University of Missouri, where she worked as anchor and reporter at local TV station KOMU. She also completed internships at Voice of America in New York and Arirang TV, an international English-language network based in Seoul, South Korea. At Stanford, Park focused on data journalism, reporting on issues including school overcrowding and suicides.

This is the third year for Google's Journalism Fellowship. The program provides students with experience at organizations that are steeped in investigative journalism, working toward press freedom and establishing the industry's digital future.

Eleven students were selected for the fellowships at 11 host organizations. Learn more about them on Google’s fellowship page.
