The Mountain West News Bureau is seeking a digital editor who will also serve as assistant editor to the Managing Editor of this thriving regional collaboration among NPR Network stations in eight Mountain West states. This seasoned journalist will help public radio stations reach new audiences and engage with communities that represent the breadth of our states. This position reports to the Managing Editor of the Mountain West News Bureau, which is housed at Boise State Public Radio. Can work remotely.
The Mountain West News Bureau brings together nearly two dozen public radio stations to plan coverage, share content and deliver vital local and regional news to their communities on all platforms. The bureau launched in 2018 and has just joined NPR’s network of regional newsrooms that are building a new architecture for how stations work together and with NPR to elevate local voices to the national audience. The leading partners are in Idaho (Boise State Public Radio), in Nevada (KNPR and KUNR), in Colorado (KUNC and CPR), in Wyoming (Wyoming Public Media), in New Mexico (KANW) and in Arizona (KJZZ).
Final employment offers are contingent upon a Final Candidate’s successful completion of a Background Verification, and a determination by the University that the information derived from the Background Verification does not disqualify the individual. In addition, a Financial History Check and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Check may be required

Organization Relationships:
Internal: Strong collaborative relationships with Boise State Public Radio and the Mountain West News Bureau, including its main partners and associate members across Mountain West states.
External: Working relationships with NPR and other content providers and technology vendors for the station’s digital platforms.
