Our programs are seen on a wide variety of streaming and broadcast outlets including Netflix, HBO Max, Warner Brothers, Hulu, Peacock, Tubi, and more.
We’re looking for an AP candidate with a graduate degree in journalism or filmmaking or equivalent work experience, with strong research, reporting, producing, and writing skills, as well as interest in pursuing a career in long form documentary production. Experience and interest in reporting on the criminal justice system preferred.
The AP will assist producers with story development, research, editing, and post production deliverables, as needed. Daily assignments range from producing transcripts, creating footage logs, obtaining court documents and evidence via FOIA, and photo and video archival research ranging from social media to local news sources. Experience in obtaining rights and clearances, as well as meticulous note taking and record keeping required.
The position is based in New York City at the Law&Crime Network - we will consider a hybrid work situation for special circumstances. This is an entry level position ideal for recent graduate students or early career journalists interested in pursuing a career in criminal justice and long form reporting. We are a small, collegial production team, led by veteran journalists looking for an energetic, creative talent to join our team.
