LA County Board of Supervisors - and their staff - handsomely compensated

Troy Anderson of the LA Daily News reports on the Los Angeles County "Fab Five" - the five members of the county Board of Supervisiors. "With salaries and benefits that can reach $185,232 a year, each of the five members of the county Board of Supervisors also controls a $3.2 million annual operating budget and a staff of dozens." Increases in staff benefits and salaries have been called "egregiously high." These packages "grew by as much as 41 percent from 2002-03 to 2005-06, according to a Daily News analysis of the data. More than two dozen staff members received pay increases of 20 percent or more in that period."
