IRE's Ted Han and Jaimi Dowdell set up for the 2013 IRE Conference, Han in last year's winning T-shirt and Dowdell in the original winner. Travis Hartman photo.
The National Institute for Computer-Assisted Reporting will once again be selling a T-shirt in celebration of data and the people who love and care for them, which will help raise money for future NICAR training events.
NICAR is currently accepting ideas and designs for T-shirts. We will accept entries until Oct. 18. Send official entries to firstname.lastname@example.org. Only submissions sent to that email will be entered in the contest.
Designs will be posted to the contest page as they are received. Voting will open shortly after we’ve received all entries, near the end of October.
The designer of the winning T-shirt also gets a free shirt and $50 in the IRE Store.
Have just the germ of an idea? Send in the text to us. Have a full-fledged graphical display to share? We’ll take JPGs, GIFs, PDFs or any other format you can come up with. All ideas are welcome, from a simple, classic design with NICAR on it to bad SQL puns (SELECT * FROM tshirts WHERE tshirts.thisone = “Awesome”). There are only a few guidelines:
We look forward to your ideas and another great CAR Conference Feb. 27-March 2 in Baltimore.
