Participate in the IRE Conference Mentorship Program

This program is currently full for those looking for a mentor. You can sign up for our waiting list or to be a mentor.

Seek advice on reporting techniques and skill development through the Mentorship Program at the 2017 IRE Conference in Phoenix.

Registration is now open for conference attendees who want to be mentees, as well as those who want to be mentors and share their knowledge.

IRE will pair each mentee with a carefully selected mentor, and contact information will be exchanged so that mentors and mentees can agree on a time and place to meet at the conference. All participants also will meet for a continental breakfast on Friday, June 23.

These private, one-on-one sessions allow conference attendees to seek advice on challenging reporting projects, get ideas for further professional development and forge connections for the road ahead. They are unique in that they are not designed for job seekers, but instead focus on teaching and sharing information.

Mentees should come prepared with questions, examples of work and/or story ideas. (Note: IRE is unable to provide private access to audiovisual equipment for broadcast mentoring. Please make your own arrangements if your mentor agrees to review a work sample.)

Space in this popular program is limited. IRE will accept mentee registrations until Wednesday, May 31, 2017, or when the program is full. In order to participate, you must be registered for the conference.
