Description

Tipsheet for "Pandemic's long-term effects on three public health sectors," a session at the IRE 2023 conference in Orlando on Thursday, June 22, 2023.

Session description: A deeper look at mental health, reproductive health and community health/access to care in coverage. Three years later, these public health sectors still fall behind in equitably addressing ongoing issues across the U.S. In Texas, access to care is getting more limited as wealthier neighborhoods see more incentives to expand, while those same breaks come far and few for others. In other parts of the country, the pandemic has allowed for a rise in substance abuse and for Americans' mental health to slide downward. Among that, low-income earners face an uphill battle for access to reproductive health care.
