Description

E magazine reports that "The U.S. military gets ready to clean up after the Cold War. When the final history of the Cold War is written, it may be revealed as an era of waste - wasted dollars on overpriced military hardware, wasted resources consumed by the military, and, most of all, acres and acres of wasted, ravaged land. The U.S. has roughly 15,000 polluted sites on land now or once owned by the armed services. Cleaning them up may take far longer than the Cold War itself."
