The four-part series documented for the first time the finances of the secretive Nation of Islam religion and showed the debt, failure and allegatoins of fraud that underlie the businesses of Louis Farrakhan launched with the donations of his followers. The Tribune finds that while the businesses have failed, engaging in sham transactions to evade creditors and tax judgments, Farrakhan and his relatives live lavishly.
