The Star Tribune documented the high social costs of legalized gambling in Minnesota. The four-part series uncovered huge amounts of debt, crime and suicide attempts bred by gambling addiction across the state. It found evidence of more than 1,000 bankruptcies per year attributed to gambling, and analyzed more than 100 gambling-related bankruptcies using a computer database. (Dec. 3 - 6, 1995)
