Dateline investigated check "cloning", a five billion dollar a year fraud. The investigation found that while check cloning may be little know, it is a much bigger problem than credit card fraud. Dateline finds that with the use of equipment anyone can buy at any computer store how simple it is to steal people's bank account numbers and make a fortune. The investigation showed how banks can easily stop the fraud on themselves and their customers but have looked the other way. (Sept. 5, 1995)
