Description

A four part series by The Spokesman Review reveals the frustration, distrust and fear much of the Inland Northwest has toward the federal government. The Spokesman Review finds that an anti-government movement, taking the form of militias, activists and naturalists believes that the federal bureaucracies have levied unfair restrictions that threaten their lifestyle. The investigation reports that these militias are no longer made up of a few extremists, rather they are well organized and highly trained groups that have the ability, and are willing to engage in violent conflicts with federal law enforcement. (Dec. 3, 4, 10, 31, 1995)
