The Environmental Magazine investigates the myth that environmental problems are mainly a white, middle-class concern and finds that environmental problems affect all socioeconomic classes and people of all colors. Because of a lack of money or power, ethnic minorities often find their communities situated closer to air pollution, hazardous waste landfills and toxic dump sites. (May/June 1992)
