Description

The Miami Herald investigates Jim Stephanis, a former millionaire restaurant owner who now works as a bartender. Stephanis tore down his restaurant and tried to build a hotel on a Florida beach, but neighbors in a high-rise retirement home behind his property insist he did not have the right to destroy their view. After more than 20 years of battling and nine court victories, Stephanis finally lost his property to the city of Pompano Beach. (June 9, 1996)
