St. Louis-based Sabreliner placed oxygen generators aboard ValuJet flight 592. A series of missteps and coincidences led to the deaths of 110 people. The Post-Dispatch concludes that if Sabreliner had followed environmental laws and best practices for disposal of hazardous waste, the crash would never have occurred. (May 21-23, June 2, 1996)
