Description

A Journal-Bulletin investigation reveals that after the Justice Department moved to seize a corruption-riddled union and throw out its boss, Arthur Coia, the government which had once prepared to allege that Coia had troubling ties to the Mafia, did an about-face and allowed Coia to supervise the cleanup of the union's affairs. The investigation discovered that Coia had built himself into a certified friend of President Clinton through heavy donations to the Democrats, to the Clinton legal fund and to favorite Clinton charities.
