Description

Several months before the US was about to make it's first change in the $100 bill in decades, WLS-TV revealed how Secret Service agents in Chicago were investigating an international organization of counterfeiters with links to terrorist groups. The bills had been turning up in Chicago for several years. The story examines how the bills were being printed, how terrorist groups obtained presses and plates and the potential political and economic results if the millions of dollars in stashed Supernotes were to be dumped by terrorists on a world market or to be used in weapons deals. (Feb. 5-6, 1996)
