ABC News goes undercover to expose telemarketing fraud. In this investigation, ABC decided to turn the tables and con the con men by setting up shop in Las Vegas, the capital of telemarketing fraud. Asking prospective job applicants to show their best pitch, ABC used hidden cameras to document their actions. Applicants were caught scamming people out of thousands of dollars by pitching phony charities and prize awards, like fancy cars they had no intention of delivering. They thought they were suckering so-called "mooches", but what they didn't know is that they were calling attorneys general and consumer advocates all over the country. (April 24, 1996)
