Prendergast examines the aftermath of a child abuse investigation in a small-town elementary school. The 1992 investigation received scant media attention and resulted in no charges being filed against the accused abuser, a popular school counselor. Prendergast's report revealed that a host of troubling questions remain about the authorities' handling of the abuse complaints and that, five years later, the case has mushroomed into an ongoing series of civil lawsuits -- triggered by the counselor's efforts to clear his name.
