The story accuses developer Douglas Rotondi of building and selling substandard housing to minorities in Babylon Town's Wyandanch area. Many of the potential homeowners leverage their lives away for these homes. The stories showed that the homes had serious flaws, including houses that were too small for their foundations; lacked proper heating, plumbing and running water; had cracked basements and loose, exposed wiring.
