Description

Every year, cities and states around the country hand out government subsidies to corporations with few strings attached. The author examines 1998's worst ten cases of corporate welfare. He found intances where taxpayers subsidize corporations, two states where corporations evade income tax altogether, three deals with companies involved in labor disputes, and the property tax diversion called tax-increment financing.
