Chicago Magazine investigates distortions of the truth about how an investigation was conducted by three Northwestern students. The investigation, which overturned the death penalty convictions of four men, gained national acclaim when Professor David Protess led his students in a semester-long search for the truth. Now, Chicago Magazine has located other sources that claim the students actually played a very minimal role in the investigation.
