Oklahoma lawmakers were taking out-of-state donations from a company with known ties to the Mob, then voting in favor of a law easing 'loan sharking' restrictions. That one company, making the donations, would make millions of dollars off economically disadvantaged Oklahomans. The series also showed how current laws regulating 'small loan' and 'pawn shops' were routinely being violated.
