The Riverfront Times investigates a proposal by the Pipefitters Local 562 that would require all pipefitters to have a license to work in St. Louis County. "The license would impose strict training and job-experience requirements that, by definition, would give a union pipefitter an edge." Nonunion workers are upset about the proposal. They say members of the union are trying to eliminate competition.
