Description

An investigation by the Kansas City Star reveals that the state's two candidates for U.S. Senate, John Ashcroft and Mel Carnahan, receive more campaign finance money from individuals and corporations that call St. Louis home rather than from those who reside in Kansas City. The story says that this discrepancy occurs in part because many of the wealthiest people who live in Kansas City reside on the Kansas side. Thus, those people are interested in Kansas state politics, not Missouri.
