WTHR-TV found that "innocent family members outside of Indiana's Westville Correctional Facility were being extorted by inmates in exchange for their loved ones' safety inside. One inmate was seriously burned in the prison kitchen dishwasher. Another was beaten repeatedly when his mother could not send money. A trail of documents and interviews showed a widespread pattern of pay-offs and intimidation surrounding Westville."
