GQ attempts at exposing the controversial mind of a stalker. The story profiles Gabriel Espinoza who has dogged by threats a TV anchorwoman and has been "an intrepid star chaser." The author compares Espinoza with other celebrity stalkers and depicts their common traits. The report reveals that "today in America, one out of twelve women and one out of fifty men are pursued" by people who "are uniformly sad, shrivelled, dull menaces..." The story contains a warning: "...it appears that he will be allowed to cop a plea, do an as-yet-unspecified amount of time under medical supervision, subjected yet again to "intensive probation" and then, like a toxic blob, dumped in the deserts of the West and forgotten about, with no thought given to a pattern of escalation that began with an autograph collection and ended with promises to kill his idols."
