Description

Rolling Stone reports on teenager Ben Garris who was sentenced to life in prison without parole. Garris was on Prozac for depression. It made him violent. Instead of taking him off Prozac, doctors up the dose. Garris wound up in a mental institution. He was still violent and depressed. They gave him more Prozac. When insurance stopped covering the bills, Garris moved from a highly-supervised wing of the facility to a virtually unsupervised one. He killed a counselor trying to escape and was sentenced to life in prison without parole. In prison Garris is growing up, but rehabilitation doesn't mean much when you have nothing to look forward to but more prison.
