The New Times documents a family torn apart by gangs. The mother dotes on her son who now lives in a nursing home after being shot in the head trying to protect his father's body after a drive-by shooting. The two daughters, both recent mothers, are fighting their own battles to escape the demons of their childhood and the gangs they grew up in. While the violence and bloodshed of these poor neighborhoods is almost never reported on, the lives of the people who live there are documented less often still.
