His loyalty to his constituents -- including Charles Keating -- never flagged, even in the face of inpending scandal. Surrounded by scandals, political intrigue and a failing marriage, DeConcini did not seek a fourth term in office. The loyalty upon which he built his career, cost him everything, and still he refused to abandon it.
