In examining four separate death penalty cases Investigative Reports found instances of "incompetent defense attorneys, judicial misconduct, police brutality and prosecutorial misconduct." Aside from the problems inside the criminal justice system, Investigative Reports also looks at the financial cost of the death penalty on a state and federal level.
