KIRO-TV's Chris Halsne and Bill Benson uncovered the far reach of Russian organized crime on Seattle and the surrounding area. While investigating a story about the salvaging and reselling of wrecked cars to unsuspecting buyers, KIRO-TV found out that many of the buyers who had tried to confront the car dealers were met with threats of violence. The team found that the scope of power of the Russian mob extends to fixing car auctions, stolen vehicles and parts, insurance fraud and welfare fraud.
