Description

KTRK-TV investigated just how many police are patrolling Houston's streets. They found an average of 286 officers "patrolling America's fourth largest city at any given time; less than 200 at 2:00 in the morning when crime is near its peak." They then "went several steps further plotting the department's patrol car GPS data." They "looked at normal patrol times, shift changes, crime peaks, and a few high profile crime areas." Afterwards they made it interactive and posted it on the Web.
