Description

Village Voice (New York) travels inside the Summit New York shock prison plan, where inmates endure boot camp to reduce their sentences; recidivism is slightly less and shock camp enrollees may have improved discipline and self-respect; Summit is one of the few programs in the nation that admits women, and its After-Shock follow-up program is a model for other prisons.
