Description

The Washington Post magazine investigates Hooters, a bar and restaurant chain which draws customers by creating an atmosphere of "tasteful, socially acceptable, female sex appeal". Hooters waitresses are required to dress scantily -exploiting their breasts - and flirt with male customers. The restaurant chain flourishes as a place where men can relax and admire female waitresses without fears of sexual harassment charges. (July 28, 1996)
