Description

The Advocate revealed, one judge missed the equivalent of seven months of work in a 26-month period, and three of the four other judges also were frequently absent. During many of their absences, they hired friends, other associates and the brother of one judge to fill in for them, at public expense. The judges frequently traveled to resorts to attend conferences that had little or nothing to do with their duties as city judges. Several of the judges bought expensive, unnecessary, furnishings and office accessories at public expense.
