Summary WTVJ "investigated the main source for drug smuggling in South Florida - the Port of Miami and Port Everglades. We discovered most of the smuggling is a result of internal conspiracies by the very people who work at the ports. Our investigation revealed that one in five International Longshoremen's Association (ILA) members at the Port of Miami are convicted felons in Florida. A former dock worker and DEA informant told us how easy it was to smuggle drugs because of lax security. We tested security at the Port of Miami and were able to drive around in the restricted area without anyone stopping us."
