    Beginning in February 2011, msnbc.com revealed that lax government enforcement allowed production of potentially contaminated alcohol wipes and other products used by millions and blamed for illnesses and death across the nation, including the death of a 2-year-old Houston boy.

But an ongoing investigation in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel found that wipes -- sterile and nonsterile -- can be dangerously contaminated, and federal regulators are not doing much to protect the public.
