Seen at the conference

More than 1000 journalists are gathering in Boston for IRE's annual conference. They're sharing tips and resources on how to better cover a range of topics from local government to immigration, racial disparities, housing scandals and police abuses.

Computer-assisted reporting, criminal justice and sessions on managing non-profit news centers were the focus of Thursday's sessions.

IRE will be collecting tipsheets from all of the sessions and archiving them online. For now, keep up with the conference by following the hashtag #IRE12 on Twitter. San Antonio Express-News investigative reporter John Tedesco has been collecting various resources from the conference on his blog. Students are blogging from the conference for IRE and Gannett journalists are sharing their insights at Gannett @ IRE.

Here are few images from the first few days in Boston.
