IRE’s Data Journalism Bootcamp provides a broad foundation in data skills for anyone with beginner to intermediate skills. We’ll start with basic spreadsheets and build into SQL, which can help you analyze millions of records. We’ll also cover data cleaning, finding data sources, using public records and bulletproofing your analysis.

Data Journalism Bootcamp tickets use the following price tiers. You must also be a current member to attend a bootcamp. If you are not a current member, you will need to join or renew before purchasing a ticket.

Large Newsroom/TV Top 25: $1000
Defined as: Newspapers with Sunday circulation 100,000 and over; TV/radio in top 25 market
Medium Newsroom/TV 25-50: $800
Defined as: Newspapers with Sunday circulation between 50,000 and 100,000; TV/radio in 25-50 market; online media with 15 or more full-time employees; magazine and newsletters
Small Newsroom/TV 50-200: $550
Define as: Newspapers with Sunday circulation under 50,000; TV/radio in 50-200 market; online media with 14 or fewer full-time employees
University educators: $800
Freelancers: $550
Students: $550
If you need to cancel your bootcamp registration, there will be a $200 non-refundable fee until one week prior to the bootcamp. Please email logistics@ire.org to request a cancellation.
